Sheffield - Chester

We spent a GREAT time in Sheffield with my sister-in-law Rachel's sister Sue and husband Rae's place. It was fantastic because Rae took us for a brief tour around the Peak district (see photo), had some great food and spent a really nice evening at the local pub with their friends - I was a bit hung over this morning, especially after also finding our way through a big magnum bottle of 1999 Tim Adams shiraz!
We are in Chester right now, we even had a BBQ for dinner with our friend Tanya's partner Graeme in their amazing house on the Dee River (see photo). Graeme of course is an expat Aussie like Tanya.
Off for a day trip to Liverpool tomorrow with Graeme, and back again the next day to fly(?) to Cork in Ireland. The craziness with the hand luggage thing has died down a bit, but you still can't carry anying other than passports and wallets on board. It means we have to trust them with our cameras, my PDA and iAudio MP3 player in the hold!

Comments:
oh noes, a whole flight full of fun filled Commercial shit. Be careful not to spoon out your ears with complementary plastic forks

Hate to be pedantic (tee hee) but its the River Dee - not the Dee River ;-)

Can you stop enjoying yourselves so much and write a bit more often? Looking forward to the next instalment!

Enviously yours....

A day trip to Liverpool? I hope you didn't go in that flash mini - the wheels would have been nicked in minutes by the dodgy scousers.

Good to see you're having fun. It's p*ssing down here in Perth.

How do's?
It's alistair here, the one who blagged a couple of days staying with you about 10 years ago in Mandurah! Looks like you're having a good 'un, those spas in Bath look a bit tasty.
Pity I missed you in London, the Ealing Park Tavern is my local. Me and Hannah have just got a new place up the road so we're looking forward to Steve coming over so we can have a few cheap meals on him!
Have a cool trip and let us know if you're back in London
Alistair

You probably already have plans but if you're still in the north west, I know a couple of people who have spare tickets to V festival near Stafford. Quality line up over two days. http://www.vfestival.com/
Tickets are usually £120, you could probably get them for £70 each if you want to mosh for the weekend. Ring me folks for my number if you fancy it - Alistair

Ali, great to hear from you and really sorry we missed you. Your parents made up for it with their hospitality though.

Would have LOVED to have gone to the V Festival, but we are no longer in the UK, off to Germany tomorrow...
